А5. Education / Training Use License

Availability: Provided to users with an active EDU.

1. Purpose and Scope of Rights

This license permits the use of Assets exclusively for educational and research purposes. The rights are non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, without the right to sublicense or transfer source files, unless otherwise expressly permitted by these terms and conditions.
Tuition fees, grants, and public funding are not considered commercial use of the Asset, provided access to the materials is restricted (to course/program participants only) and the Assets are not used in advertising or selling courses.

Re-download: According to Clause 2.2.5 of the License Terms and Conditions (RDW of 24 months with an active subscription; during the 30-day Grace Period — only re-downloads from the Library, without new Selections or initial downloads).
Title ID: Mandatory only for Legal Entities (including educational institutions, platforms): a Title ID for the educational course/project (e.g., EDU/IT-Graphics/Fall-2025) must be specified for each Download. Not required for Individuals (students, individual instructors), unless they act in the interests of a Legal Entity.

2. Permitted Use

It is permitted to include Assets in:

  • Textbooks, lectures, presentations, term papers, theses;

  • Research projects and scientific publications;

  • Virtual laboratories, simulators, and training systems for education;

  • Demonstrations in classes, seminars, workshops, project defenses;

  • Uploads to closed educational environments (LMS, intranet portals) with access restricted to course/program participants only.

3. Prohibited Use (in addition to Section 3 of the License Terms and Conditions)

The following is prohibited:

  • Advertising, promotion, and sale of educational courses, programs, or materials; use of Assets in marketing or student recruitment campaigns of educational institutions (Appendix A3 of the License Terms and Conditions is required for this);

  • Inclusion of Assets in games, applications, or public interactive services outside the educational environment;

  • Publishing or distributing Asset source files (FBX, OBJ, BLEND, textures, etc.) in public access (including GitHub, Kaggle, Sketchfab, stock sites, template marketplaces), as well as transferring them beyond the educational group;

  • Uploading Assets or derivatives to stock media resources, asset catalogs, "packs," templates, presets; open licenses (OSS, CC) are prohibited — see Clause 3.11 of the License Terms and Conditions;

  • Using Assets as a trademark, logo, or element of corporate identity; registering derivatives as intellectual property items;

  • Any AI/ML use-case: training, retraining, testing models, collecting/augmenting datasets, content generation, style transfer, uploading to AI services, transferring to third parties for AI purposes — see Clause 3.3 of the License Terms and Conditions;

  • Providing students or trainees with functionality to export source files from educational applications or scenes (FBX, OBJ, textures, etc.); publishing scenes or projects from which Assets can be easily extracted (Clause 3.7 of the License Terms and Conditions).

4. Permitted Internal Distribution (for Educational Purposes)

Within a single educational organization, access to Assets may be provided only to instructors and students of the relevant course or group, provided technical and organizational protection measures are in place (LMS, NDA, honor code, prohibition on downloading source files).
Contractors and invited trainers may work with Assets solely for the benefit of the licensee organization's course, without the right to store or reuse them in other projects.

5. Anti-Extraction and Baked-In

For interactive educational environments and simulators, the User must implement reasonable industry-standard protection measures (packaging, obfuscation, encryption, DRM, data segregation, disabling export/debug functions) — see Clauses 3.7 – 3.8 of the License Terms and Conditions.
The rules for Baked-In apply in full according to Clause 3.13 of
the License Terms and Conditions: publication is permitted only as part of materials or environments that do not allow the Asset to be extracted "as-is." Prohibition on publishing scenes or projects allowing "easy extraction" — Clause 3.7 of the License Terms and Conditions.

6. Attribution

When publicly publishing educational materials (video recordings of lectures, methodical guides, articles), the source must be indicated in a reasonable form: "Asset source: ScanWOW (scanwow.com)".

If the platform does not allow hyperlinks, a textual mention without the URL is sufficient.

7. Transition to Commercial Use

If an educational or research project is planned for commercialization (sale of a course/materials, paid program for a wide audience, marketing use, inclusion of Assets in a product/application), the corresponding commercial license (Appendix A3 or A4) must be acquired prior to release.

8. Warranties and Liability

Assets are provided "as is"; Section 7 of the License Terms and Conditions shall apply.

9. Miscellaneous

Compliance with Clause 3.11 (Source Files, OSS, CC), Clause 3.12 (NSFW) of the License Terms and Conditions, as well as anti-circumvention of per-title/Title ID rules, is mandatory.
